YAKKUM is a non-profit organisation that assists young people with disabilities to work, earn a living and become respected members of their communities. It’s been an All Saints outreach project for 21 years. Recently YAKKUM has had difficulty raising enough from sales to cover overheads and salaries, so are under financial pressure. If you are interested in supporting the project there are a variety of wooden toys and carvings, soft toys, and paper-tole pictures of typical Indonesian scenes that can be purchased – great gifts for friends and family, or for yourself.
YAKKUM Craft: Established in 1991, YAKKUM Craft is the
sister organisation of Pusat Rehabilitasi YAKKUM, a rehabilitation centre which
gives assistance to physically disabled children and young adults. Potential
producers of YAKKUM Craft are trained for between three and six months by Pusat
Rehabilitation YAKKUM. Thos who reach the required standard are asked to become
