Secret signs. Palm branches, donkeys, old words. A swelling crowd. A recent report suggested that the US intelligence organisations were not able to predict the disaster of 9/11 because they were not able to read what each other was reporting. They would have done better if all their data was accessible to a search engine like Google, according to one analyst.
The data about Jesus is quite small by comparison to modern collections of data. It is also much more valuable. And it can be searched by anyone who can read (or hear if you use one of the audio versions of the Bible). But it does contain some hidden clues. Hidden at least until they are discovered. The good thing about these hidden clues is that anyone can uncover them if they read the data. Some of us have discovered more than others, but all of us can discover it.
Christianity is not a secret society with special knowledge only available to the inner few. All its information is public. So what about the palms and the donkey?
The donkey was a code event. It was referred to in a prophecy given by Zechariah about 500 years before and was one of the signs by which the great King of Israel could be identified.
And hosanna! A harmless old word with a variety of feel-good meanings. But for those in the know an old Psalm used this word as a prayer asking for salvation from a righteous ruler who came to the Lord’s temple in the name of the Lord.
And the branches! The same psalm mentioned them. And the people were used to using them at the harvest celebrations. They were festive tools to help celebrate God’s great goodness.
So after a Google search of this data, what would you make of it? Seems pretty clear that a highly significant event took place that day when Jesus came into Jerusalem on his donkey. The coded pointers mark it out as significant. But what is its significance? What kind of a king is this?
As Jesus had already hinted, the deeper significance would have to wait another few days to be uncovered before it would become apparent what the king came to do. Dale That's right that all the bible's
information is public and everybody can uncover it. But it will only uncovered
if we use the wisdom of God. Posted by Lidia on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 08:38:13
