Gereja Reformasi

All Saints adalah Gereja Anglikan. Sejarah Gereja Anglikan berakar dari Reformasi Gereja Inggris ke gereja Yesus dan rasulNya. Gereja ini adalah salah satu Gereja yang sangat diubah oleh Reformasi Protestan.

Archbishop Thomas Cranmer dan Reformis Inggris lainnya meninggalkan tiga dasar besar untuk Gereja Anglikan:

• Alkitan dalam bahasa Inggris

• Buku Doa Umum dalam bahasa Inggris

• 39 Pasal Agama

Bersamaan dengan tiga pengakuan kuno, tiga dasar ini telah memberikan Gereja Anglikan kekuatan teologis dan rohani yang besar.  Empat dasar ini menggambarkan hati dan sumber ajaran Anglikan. Akan tetapi 39 Pasal menunjuk ke Alkitab sebagai kekuasaan tertinggi di dalam hal iman. Dasar tersebut juga menunjuk ke tiga pengakuan besar, yang menyatakan ajaran yang dipercayai sebagai benar oleh semua orang Kristen.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God,
       the Father, the Almighty,
       maker of heaven and earth,
       of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
       the only Son of God,
       eternally begotten of the Father,
       God from God, Light from Light,
       true God from true God,
       begotten, not made,
       of one Being with the Father;
       through him all things were made.
       For us and for our salvation
               he came down from heaven,
               was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
               and became truly human.
               For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
               he suffered death and was buried.
               On the third day he rose again
               in accordance with the Scriptures;
               he ascended into heaven
               and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
               He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
               and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
       who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

       who has spoken through the prophets.
       We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
       We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

The Definition of Chalcedon

SIMPLIFIED ENGLISH

We, then, following the holy Fathers, and all in agreement, teach everyone to confess one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, the same perfect in Godhead and also perfect in manhood; truly God and truly man, of a reasonable [rational] soul and body; consubstantial [of the same essence or being] with the Father according to the Godhead, and consubstantial [of the same nature or substance] with us according to the Manhood; in all things like us, without sin; begotten before all ages of the Father according to the Godhead, and in these latter days, for us and for our salvation, born of the Virgin Mary, the Bearer of God, according to the Manhood; one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, to be acknowledged in two natures, that are not confused, that are not changed,  that are not divided, that are not separated; the distinction of natures is not taken away by the union, but rather the property of each nature is preserved, and occurs together in one Person and one Being, not parted or divided into two persons, but one and the same Son, and only begotten, God the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ, as the prophets from the beginning [have declared] concerning him, and the Lord Jesus Christ himself has taught us, and the Creed of the holy Fathers has handed down to us.
