All Saints Relief Ministry (A.R.M.)

An initiative of All Saints Anglican Church

Responding to natural disasters and showing the love of Christ.

ARM is now "open for business".

What is ARM?

Indonesia regularly experiences many natural disasters such as the tsunami, earthquakes, landslides and floods. When big disasters happen the international and local communities always respond generously but  there are often needs arising from big disasters which are not covered  by the larger donor organizations. And there are many small emergencies and disasters, which seem to happen every day, that the friends and members of All Saints may wish to donate towards.

All Saints has decided to be proactive and be prepared to respond to crisis situations which arise and which larger donor organizations either miss or which are out of their brief. Accordingly we are now equipped to receive funds which will be used for emergency relief needs which occur from time to time. Whether it is disasters of the scale of the tsunami or smaller disasters which happen more frequently in Indonesia  ARM is now available for people to channel goods or money at any time.

We are able to stock limited supplies of dried food (mie etc) and clothing. We will also accept donations of money in advance of emergencies. ARM will direct donations to reliable Christian groups who are helping on the ground. However this may mean that we may not be able to distribute aid for some local emergencies where we do not yet have partners.

Our aims:

*To receive donations of money and goods to distribute to affected areas after first assessing what is most needed and most appropriate. These projects would be undertaken on a short term basis with a start and finish date and accordingly would not be long term and would have a clear outcome statement.

*To distribute aid to where it is most needed especially for needs which have not been covered by larger donor groups.  This assessment will be based on utilizing All Saints extensive contacts throughout Indonesia. Accordingly the project should have some connection to the church.

*Where possible we will focus on distributing aid through reliable Christian groups who will use the aid in the context of wider Christian ministry thus working together with Gospel work.

*To appeal  for funds both within All Saints Church Jakarta and outside especially with our extensive network of former church members – alumni.

*To keep the funds focused on relatively small projects so that accountability and good stewardship is maintained and to give feedback to both the church and outside donors. Accordingly we aim to have a high degree of involvement on the part of the church and the congregation through prayer and where appropriate personal contact.

If you would like to contribute to these needs, or of you would like further information, please contact us.
